St. Patrick’s Catholic Primary raise £500 with Reading Challenge

We want to say a huge thank you to all the children, parents and staff at St. Patrick’s Primary School in Cleator Moor for their amazing support taking on our Reading Challenge!! You have helped us make an incredible difference to so many families!

With all their hard work and super fundraising they raised £500!!!

The Reading Challenge taken on by schools helps us to provide more portable libraries for children’s wards in our area, which make a huge difference to children and their families.

Reading to children in hospital is proven to:

  • Aid recovery of the children when they hear a familiar voice
  • Strengthen family bonds as they read together
  • Encourage all member of the family to be involved during hospital visits
  • Create a sense of normality in a strange situation/surroundings
