In Hospital
The first point at which we offer a family is when their child is taken ill or injured in an accident. Parents drop everything and go to hospital with their child and can often be hundreds of miles away from home with none of their possessions. This is why we provide our parent bags to families, to help them through the first few days in hospital. We also provide packs for parents who are admitted with their child to the Special Care Baby Unit in Whitehaven.
We also provide lots of support for sick children and their families during their time on the ward in the hospitals across our region. We provide a huge range of medical equipment, physiotherapy equipment, comfort items, sensory toys and equipment, portable libraries and staff training. We also renovate family rooms, such a vital space for parents to get a little respite (and cuppa) and clear their head during the challenging time of being in hospital with their child.
