While we were in SCBU we were able to use the Team Evie Parents Lounge to feel more at home while we were with Florence and were able to read some of the books from the Team Evie Book Trolley to Florence and our older daughter.

Before Florence was discharged we were able to spend a few nights in the Parent’s Room which felt like a bit of normality before taking Florence home.

Unfortunately in January Florence was rushed to The RVI in Newcastle with a bowel obstruction where she spent two weeks in PICU and another two weeks on ward 9 and underwent two emergency bowel surgeries ending up with a stoma.

While in PICU we were given toys for Florence donated by Team Evie and while on Ward 9 on one of our visits we were given a Bobbys Little Explorer Kit to encourage Florence’s development. We also used some of the covered cups donated by Team Evie to have hot drinks on the ward.

Team Evie do such amazing work and have been there to support us during the worst times.
